Hello! My name is Kathy Carrico and I welcome you to my website!

As the State Training Director for the Nevada Small Business Development Center I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of business trainers and educators for more than 15 years. During this time I have accumulated a treasure chest full of gems from smarter and wiser people than myself. What better way of thanking all of these incredible individuals than sharing some of the priceless knowledge I’ve gained from them in my position.

I have been tagged as a “business butterfly” which best defines my personality and activity in northern Nevada. I work for a visionary boss who has encouraged entrepreneurial behavior since day one. With this mindset I have been allowed to engage in community outreach with no set boundaries. Having choices of who to work with has allowed me to seek out those who are passionate about business. I am an expert at knowing experts, and find myself surrounded by an ocean of people looking to give back.

I believe strongly that a community of people makes a positive difference in the quality of life for themselves and others. I have served on a variety of boards and have chaired countless committees all in the name of community advancement through strategic alliances.

My platforms are uniquely different, but are each an important and equal piece that makes up the business side of Kathy Carrico.

Currently I am:

• State Training Director for the Nevada Small Business Development Center, University of Nevada, Reno
• One of eighteen national Master Trainers for NxLeveL for Entrepreneurs™  curriculum
• State Administrator of NxLeveL for Entrepreneurs™  in Nevada
• President  for the Northern Nevada Chamber of Commerce, formerly the Sparks Chamber of Commerce
• Founder and Chair of BizFlash, our chamber’s monthly business education program
• Founder and Director of Campus Kids, our university’s summer youth program
• An active member of eWomen Network of Reno/Carson/Tahoe
• A trainer and speaker on small business topics throughout rural Nevada
• A practitioner of personal branding, blogging, new media, and effective networking
• A writer
• A regular lector at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church

I believe that education is the foundation of a healthy and prosperous economy and community. I believe that we constantly receive opportunities to engage and make a difference in providing solutions to problems. I believe that the purpose of life is to give back.
